Honorees: Howard and Ronit Treatman

After graduating from the University of Pennsylvania and Cornell Law School, Howard Treatman founded the nationally focused real estate investment firm, Harvest Equities. A lifelong Philadelphian, Howard has provided leadership to several prominent communal and civic organizations. His most treasured volunteer affiliation has been with the Jack M. Barrack Hebrew Academy, where he has offered invaluable leadership since 2010, serving as president of the Board of Directors and on the Executive Committee.

Israeli-born Ronit Treatman grew up in Ethiopia and Venezuela. After serving in the IDF, she studied international business administration in the U.S. before raising children. She later became an acclaimed writer, editor and president of The Philadelphia Jewish Voice and authored Hands-On Jewish Holidays, published in English, Spanish, Catalan, Portuguese, Hebrew and Russian. Ronit also serves as Director of Reconectar, an organization that focuses on reconnecting descendants of former Spanish and Portuguese Jewish communities with the Jewish world.

Howard and Ronit’s greatest achievements are their three children, Devorah, David and Hannah, all Barrack graduates. David is a successful producer, and Devorah and Hannah have both made aliyah, proudly served in the IDF and are pursuing their education in Israel.
